Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC)
The Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC) Course is conducted at the club on a Saturday afternoon.
The Surf Rescue Certificate is the very first stage of becoming a lifesaver. Whether you plan to compete in surf sports or simply patrol, there are plenty of opportunities and a variety of challenges within a surf club:
For U/13 - U/14's who participate in Senior Surf Life Saving competitions, the SRC is a requirement, along with minimum patrol hours to compete at local and state competitions/carnivals.
To assist your club with community service via patrolling our beaches.
Develop team building skills.
Helping with water safety at carnivals and surf club events.
For parents to participate in their children's nipper activities (water safety)

Pre-requisites
Be able to swim 200m within five minutes (time to be signed by SLS qualified coach, SLS Trainer &/or Assessor)
Course participants must be fully financial with West Beach SLSC
Minimum 13 years of age at time of final assessment

Perform a board and tube rescue of a conscious and unconscious patient
Perform basic first aid
Perform Resuscitation and Patient Assessment
Complete a 100m Run, 100m Swim, 100m run in under five minutes
Communicate on Patrol via signals
